ASYLUM FOR PERUVIAN CITIZEN VICTIM OF THE SHINING PATH - GRANTED
June 2018
A young man from Peru, at the age of 5, witnesses his father being tortured by the terrorist group known as "Shinning Path" and was granted asylum at the Los Angeles Immigration Court. Asylum cases are very difficult to win, but this case was granted because the client was very cooperative, and our team was able to present great arguments in favor. The DHS countered, stating that the terrorist group "Shinning Path" was terminated back in the 1990s when Peruvian Intelligence Officers arrested their leader Abimael Guzman Reynoso. However, this group switched from a violent strategy to a political one and became known as MOVADEF. This group is still involved in promoting the "Pensamiento Gonzalo," which was aligned with the "Shinning Path." MOVADEF has infiltrated schools, judges, and members of Congress. Basically, our client more likely than not be tortured by the same people that tortured his father.
